What do you do when the darkness comes?  Do you trust that God is with you and He will take care of you?  Do you know that He knows what you are experiencing?  Do you know His kindness?  Do you trust Him with your life?  Do you hope in Him when you are suffering?

I want to encourage you.  We can always have hope and joy in our suffering, because Jesus came – and He is merciful.  He came to save sinners like us.  He came to defeat the devil and sin and death and the grave!  He came to give us hope.  Hope in Him.  Hope that no matter what comes our way, He is there, waiting for us, serving us, fighting for us, keeping us, loving us, teaching us, guiding us, holding us.

In Hebrews 13:5 it says, “He will never leave us nor forsake us.”  Do you believe that?  I hope you do, because it means everything when you are going through a season where you can’t see…. A season where there is darkness.

Let me remind you… God is faithful.  And He is faithful to the end (1 Cor 1:8).  There is no suffering that He hasn’t experienced (Heb 4:15).  So, He knows what you are going through.  He truly does.  And He knows how to get you through it.  But, this requires you to trust in Him, lean on Him, acknowledge Him in the suffering and in the pain.  There is no one who understands what you are going through better than Him.  And it gives Him great joy when you accept Him, acknowledge Him, believe on Him, rely on Him and trust in Him.

He is humble and He will come for you.  Be persistent in your faith, don’t give up!  God is wholly good and He is true to His Word.  Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6).  Believe Him.

True faith believes.
